Research Associate, in vitro Pharmacology
What’s happening at Entrada Therapeutics? Our mission is simple and direct and that is to treat devastating diseases. Using our proprietary Endosomal Escape Vehicle (EEV) platform, we are advancing a diverse pipeline of oligonucleotide, enzyme, protein and peptide programs to efficiently engage intracellular targets across multiple therapeutic areas. We’re a tight-knit team of experts and leaders in both therapeutics development and rare disease spaces -- our novel approach to drug design and delivery addresses several important challenges associated with the development of large and small molecule therapeutics, and represents a fundamental advancement in the field of intracellular therapeutics delivery.
With backing from 5AM Ventures, MPM Capital, Roche Venture Fund, MRL Ventures Fund and Agent Capital, Entrada Therapeutics is excited to grow and attract colleagues who are ready to join a high energy, dedicated team that likes to get things done and dramatically improve the lives of patients and their families.
The perfect fit:
You should be versatile, self-motivated, and looking forward to rolling up your sleeves, as you’ll be involved in all aspects of molecular cellular pharmacology, leading efforts for developing cell-based assays for candidate optimization, drug candidate validation and overseeing in vitro pharmacology studies for preclinical proof-of-concept. You’ll support our intracellular oligonucleotide and biologics discovery and development efforts and will team up with the Discovery Group and other functions to move programs from target identification to preclinical proof-of-concept. You’ll work side-by-side with Scientists performing experiments and research and will provide biology insights on new targets as part of the Pharmacology Group, giving you the opportunity to play a direct role in advancing validated targets into the drug discovery pipeline.
In this role you will be responsible for the integrity and quality of internal in vitro data package while designing, conducting, and managing in vitro biologically relevant cellular assays to evaluate mechanistic and physiologically relevant functional activity data package. Utilizing internal and external resources to execute pharmacology studies and preclinical translational studies relevant for rare neuromuscular and immunology related disease, your partners in the Discovery Group with work with you to generate mechanistic proof-of-concept and contribute to selecting novel therapeutic modalities that includes antibody, peptides, and oligonucleotides. You’ll independently design molecular or cellular assays aligned with the targeted disease mechanism and represent the group by presenting data and research findings in the weekly pharmacology and cross functional discovery/antibody meetings.
At Entrada, our passion for science, our devotion to patients and our values drive our behavior:
Humanity- We genuinely care about patients and about one another
Tenacity- We are relentless and persistent in the pursuit of developing therapies for patients
Creativity- We are creative problem solvers
Collaboration- We are more than the sum of our parts
Curiosity- We have a growth mindset and push conventional thought and theory
To thrive on our team, you will need to come with:
- At least 2+ years’ experience from an academic environment, and industry experience certainly doesn’t hurt.
- Your BS/MS will have you ready to perform at your best with us as you come with experience in state-of-the-art in vitro laboratory techniques (PCR, DNA and protein gel electrophoresis, Western blots, RNA preps, quantitative real-time PCR, mammalian cell line tissue culture).
- We hope you have exposure to mammalian transfection and lentiviral related experience, but it’s not mandatory, although an ability to solve problems while designing and performing experiments is!
- We want to hear about the original thinking and deductive reasoning you’ve used to solve routine operation and scientific problems.
- To be effective on our team, we need you to bring excellent working knowledge and familiarity of graphic software and Microsoft Office.
By becoming a team member here at Entrada, you’ll have access to competitive health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as life insurance, and short term and long-term disability insurance. We value work life balance, and you’ll benefit from discretionary time off and an excellent 401K package. We also offer a generous transportation stipend to commute as you wish. Our location in the vibrant and growing Seaport District is close to all the best that the city of Boston has to offer.
