Position Summary

Entrada is seeking a highly motivated, proactive, collaborative, and innovative scientist with a background in bioorganic chemistry to join Entrada’s discovery efforts. The candidate will work with a world-class, multidisciplinary team of drug discovery scientists on applying cutting-edge peptide and oligonucleotide chemistry to develop leads for compelling biological targets. Specifically, the candidate will design and execute medicinal chemistry studies and use proprietary display technology to develop next-generation constrained peptidomimetics. The candidate will contribute to scientific publications and regulatory submissions as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and execute the synthesis, purification, and characterizations of peptides and oligonucleotides development candidates
  • Design and execute the synthesis and characterizations of peptide and oligonucleotide library for SAR studies
  • Work with other team members to implement assays for ascertaining target engagement, validating biological activity in vitro (e.g. alphascreen, TR-FRET, fluorescence polarization, cell-based functional assay)
  • Manage, organize, and critically evaluate data independently.
  • Champion innovation and new initiatives in discovery programs by proactively reviewing literature and other advancements
  • Interpret and present research data and findings in internal and external scientific meetings and conferences
  • Contribute effectively to patents, reports, and publications of scientific findings

Education Requirements

  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, or a relevant scientific discipline

Skills and Experiences

  • Demonstrated experience in the design, synthesis, and purification of peptides and oligonucleotides
  • Skilled with solid-phase peptide synthesizers, method optimization and conjugations
  • Demonstrated experience with HPLC, LC-MS systems and other analytical instruments
  • Hands-on experience with oligonucleotide synthesizers is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with flow-based solid phase synthesis is a plus
  • Experience with hit optimization, SAR study, target engagement and other medicinal chemistry principals is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn fast, grasp the “essence”, and multi-task to meet research and development goals
  • Drive to solve problems and ability to work independently
